Hi everyone! I pulled out some of my distress oxide inks and had some fun creating these two bookmarks. One if for me and I'm giving another to a girl friend of mine.
I haven't played with my oxide inks, I don't think, ever. I love them and they do great things but other projects always seemed to be needed first. After watching some of the Q & A videos of Tim Holtz on facebook I couldn't wait to pull them out and get crafty!
I stamped the multi colored back image and then "smudged" them with a blending foam. I like how it gives a softer look without ruining the image.
I then stamped a second image over the main background image in one to two different colors. This gives the bookmark a little more depth. I then stamped the upper corner and last the book girl in permanent black ink.
I then took a spray bottle and added water to both tags, letting it seep in before hitting it with my heat tool. I did this 2-3 more times and once it was completely dry I added distress micro glaze over it to keep it protected.
I hope you'll give this a try. It was so much fun and I love the results.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!!
