Congrats Grad-layering dies lesson 1

So, I am just having a blast with all the different classes at Altenew and when they offered the Layering dies 3d and more class I couldn't wait.  I have quite a few of the 3d dies from Altenew and learning how to use those as well as other dies in my stash is awesome.

I so want to be able to grab any of my dies and just create. I have such a hard time using them for anything other than what they were made for.  I like that this class gives some out of the box ways to use them.

For my first card I decided to use two different cover plates and layer them to create my background. I used the lots of dots and dainty blooms cover plates.  I decided on all white to keep it simple and clean. I also used the framed congrats die for my sentiment.

Here is a close up of the cover plates. I really love how these two look together! My next purchase will be some of Altenew's two step cover plates.  I can't wait to give those a try!!

Artist Watercolor 101 Lesson 4 Miss You

Back at it in the Altenew Academy working on my Artist Watercolor 101 class. This week I learned the wet on wet technique.  I loved doing the background as it was basically just adding colors to make it look like tye dye.  Coloring the flowers in, on the other hand, was a lot harder for me.

Learning what colors go well together and how to blend them is going to take me some time to get the hang of but I'm happy with how my card turned out.

Ombre background Hello

Hi everyone! I'm here again with another Artists Watercolor 101 for Paper Crafter's project to share.  I had so much fun making this ombre background.  I have to say it was one of the easier techniques for me.  I can't wait to give it a try with some of the other paint colors.

I used my mega hello die for the front and it's just way to big for this card. I added it anyway as I didn't have much time to finish this card and I didn't want to leave it unfinished and forget what I was doing.

I also used the Watercolor Roses stamps and die bundle. This was the stamp set used in the class as well as the Mega Friend die (I don't have it, hence the hello). I also used the Artist's watercolor 24 Pan set.

I had so much fun with this card and I would love to do this class along with you! Check out the link at the beginning to see if this is something you'd like to give a try.

There's no one like you

I just finished my second project for my water color class (actually my first card).  I am still trying to figure it out so this is a little raw but I'm happy with it being my first actual water colored project.

It definitely takes some practice and patience. Both of which I sometimes forget to have.  I took my time on this card and used the same colors she did in the class video just so I didn't have to guess about color matching.

The stamp set that I used has some large blossoms in them and this made it so much easier to get the color going.  I have some more blending to do on future blooms but I would still mail this card out.

Watercolor 101

HI everyone! I have started a class over at the Altenew Academy called Artists' Watercolor 101 for Paper Crafter's.

I recently got Altenew's Artist Watercolor 24 Pan Set and didn't have any idea of what to do with them.  I have always wanted to learn how to watercolor but just couldn't quite get it down.  I love that they have classes you can take to help you learn to use your supplies and then go beyond and learn more techniques so that you'll keep using them.

My first lesson was to see what the paint does when using different techniques. This was pretty cool to watch the instructor do and then doing it myself.  I already feel a lot more confident.

Here is what I did following the instructor. I can't wait to share with you the next lesson's!!
