STAMPNATION WEEKEND CHALLENGE CARD

Hi everyone! I created a fun card for the weekend challenge over at StampNation. The challenge was to use critters. I chose a fun bird set.

I wanted to create something fun and different (for me anyway). I used a stencil to create a frame and then spritzed the stencil with water and laid a plain piece of white cardstock on top to transfer the remaining color.

The background is my favorite part of this card. I haven't used this technique before but will again.

I used Catherine's color wheel to choose the ink colors. Using the Tetrad colors was new for me. The only thing I would do different is maybe choose a lighter purple for the one bird.

URBANIZE AN OLD CHRISTMAS CARD

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a fun card I made for the challenge over on Cathrine Pooler's Stampnation site! Each week until the end of November there will be a new challenge to create Christmas cards.

This week's is to urbanize and old Christmas card you've created.

Here is the card I decided to re-make. I remember making this last year. I forgot how much I loved this tree! The glitter strips are what make me happy. Such a subtle accent.

And here is the card I created today. I used bright colors and background paper. I also used direct to paper inking to create the red piece behind the trees.

And here they both are side by side. Such a big change.

Hello orange

Good afternoon! I created a card using a color challenge over at Stampnation. This one was a bit hard as I don't usually use orange. I pulled out all five of Catherine Pooler's orange inks and got stamping.  I started with using a heart stencil from Altenew and blended the five different colors. I love how that turned out so I did it again for the hello sentiment.

I used little cut out hearts from the large heart I made to add some texture to the card and I didn't feel I needed to add any other "bling". For not being to fond of orange I do love how this card turned out. I tried to make it a valentine's card but just couldn't do it lol.

Happy Birthday StampNation!!

This month over at StampNation we are celebrating it's 9th birthday! I have been apart of SN for about 4 years and have loved every minute. The inspiration from all the ladies, the wonderful challenges and the celebrations are so much fun.

I made two birthday cards using Concord & 9th"s Top It Off stamp/dies.  This is such a fun set and has so many different possibilities! I can't wait to get crafting a bit more with this set.  This is what I came up with today

I used my new misti to help me align my images a bit better and am very happy with how it turned out. I loved using the different colors to create the tiers.  I love both but I think the blue and yellow cake is my favorite. It looks more like a wedding cake to me.

Additional products used:
ink: Catherine Pooler- sauna, stone blue, lemongrass, sangria, daydream, midnight
Cs: heavy white
ss: Concord & 9th- top it off stamp/dies, Catherine Pooler-I eat cake

Hello

Good morning! I tried out another color combo from Stampnation today and am loving it! It's part of the Coffee & Cards-Holiday Edition. I love when they give us color inspiration. It's so cool to see what others come up with and how many different techniques they use.

I used some new products I purchased during Black Friday (shh) I knew I just had to purchase the penguin stamp sets that The Stamps of Life came out with! They are so darn cute and add the right amount of fun to my card. I also used the new diamond builder stencil from Concord & 9th. This works a lot like the turnabout stamps so there will be more cards coming with this stencil!!

I am so happy with the way this card turned out.  I used ink to make the purple cardstock and then cut my sentiment out of it. I can't wait to create more backgrounds with that stencil and see just what I can get out of it!!

Make A Wish

Today I tried a new technique and loved it.  I used my gel press, acrylic paint and my brayer to create the background for my card.

I started with adding drops of color to the press and then rolling it out.  I did have a bit to much paint so I got one sheet of solid painted color to work with (can't wait to craft with it)!! I then took a background stamp and laid it down on the gel press and pressed it in.

I stamped the background off each time on a separate piece of paper. Once done I took another piece of paper onto the gel press and rubbed the image into it.  I now have three different backgrounds to use on future projects from just one use of the gel press.

I used the sketch for week one of the 8th Birthday celebration going on over at Stampnation.  I am loving the inspiration I'm getting and making this card to no time at all.

Here is the birthday card I made today using a bit of the stamped background.

Make My Heart

So much stamping going on today.  Makes my heart happy to be crafting away and getting things done.

I did challenge #298 over at Stampnation.  I love being apart of this online community.  So much inspiration and the ladies are amazing.

This challenge was to case a card the design team did.  These are the cards we had to choose from

My card is based off the hexagon card.  I got some great new products from Concord and 9th and couldn't wait to use them!  I like that even though it came out for Valentine's Day it can be used for almost anything.

Supplies:

White cardstock
Nuvo mica mist violet lustre
Nuvo glitter drops yellow bird
Echo Park you and me scattered heart stencil
gold washi tape
Catherine Pooler inks-midnight, garden party, sweet sixteen, it's a girl, it's a boy

Day of Birthday Cards

I've been enjoying a fun day crafting in my newly "cleaned" craft room.  I've been having such a hard time crafting and getting my mojo up and going, so I figured cleaning would help.  Well, that turned into taking out two bookshelves and one storage unit, moving my table to face the windows so I can look out side and moving my calendar stand (holds all my 12x12 papers) to the middle of the room.

I found that once done I couldn't wait to start crafting.  I'm starting off by making some birthday cards. Over at Stampnation it's their 8th birthday and there's always a big party to celebrate.  Making birthday cards is just the beginning.

I created the first card using the challenge #299 over at Stampnation for inspiration.  Such a great way to get the juices flowing

I decided to keep them pretty simple and quick to make.  I stamped a sentiment on each white cardstock first and then went back with different images to add some color.

I love the look of white card bases with one layer of color and "popping" up the top piece of white. It adds just a tad bit dimension.

Sweet Challenge #275

Over at Stampnation there is a really fun challenge.  Challenge #275 Sketch.  It's such a sweet and simple sketch and has so many different options for beautiful cards.

I'm loving how this card turned out.  I used the circle outline from Ring in the Celebration stamp set along with polished, sugared lavender, eucalyptus, sauna and stone blue inks.  Along with the new sweet die that's in the SOA kit this quarter.

Birthday Card Fun

I spent the day "snowed" in.  We've gotten so much snow the last three days that I just couldn't muster the strength to drive in it again.  That said, I got to spend the whole day crafting and creating a ton of birthday cards for a #Bdaydone challenge over at Stampnation. I am absolutely loving Catherine Pooler and her wonderful community.  Not only does she have great products but the community she started has tons of inspiration to get your crafting juices flowing.

Here are all the cards I've gotten done today.  All of these cards will be getting sent out at some point this year to the people I love.  It's so fun to be ahead of the game, knowing that they aren't expecting it!

Count Your Blesssings

Hello! I am back and having some crafting fun today.  I created this card using a sketch from Stampnation.  I recently joined and am loving all the inspiration over there.  This is the first challenge I've done there and can't wait to see the end result of the contest.

Here is my card I made.  This is basically a one layer card.  My white cardstock is so thin that I had to mount it onto something or it wouldn't stand.

Supplies: seaglass, pixie, banana and candy ink, hooray4kitclub sentiment stamps, candles4birhtday and morecandles2stamp stampsets (all items listed above are from The Stamps of Life), tuxedo black ink, white cardstock, pink cardstock, pink/white twine
