Blessings

I love this time of year.  The leaves falling, cooler weather, the smell of camp fires.  Brings out the festive side.  I wish I had more crafting items for this time of year.  I wanted to join in on a couple of challenges today and had to search my entire stash and finally found this one stamp that I knew would work.

This is what I came up with.  The wood pieces gave me a bit of a hassle but I finally got them to stay on.   The only bad thing is that I ended up with a smudge of ink from the wood piece on my cardstock.

Linda 1951

I have been hard at work trying to get all these photos I received, when my Grandma passed away, scrapped so that I could give my mom an album for Christmas.  I thought I had such a daunting project ahead of me but when I went through the rest of the photos today, an separated them into piles, it's really not that bad.

Since most of the photos are only 1 or 2 in a group I've been doing a lot of one page layouts.  I am so not used to this, as I take so many photos I always do two page layouts.  I found a great layout challenge over at Sketch~N~Scrap.  Finding these layouts helps so much and makes the pages come together way faster than I'd be able to on my own.

Here's the layout

Here is my finished layout

Warm Birthday Wishes

I'm totally in love with penquins.  My family laughs at me because every time we go to the zoo I just have to see the penquins.  If we don't I'm just not a happy camper.  They are always doing the same thing and in the same place but I HAVE to see them.

So it's no surprise that when I saw this new stamp set from Sunny Studios I just HAD to buy it.  I mean what could be cuter? It's got penquins and you can "bundle" them up!!

The sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches is perfect for this set.  I love that the image area is smaller and will fit this cute little penquin perfectly.

I'm also entering this to Seize the Birthday

Here is my finished card.

Here's a look at the inside.  I've really gotten into "designing" the inside to give a little added flare.

Penquin Happiness

I started working on my Christmas cards about a week ago and came to a quick halt.  I knew I wanted to use penquins on the front but once I colored in the images the rest of the card just fell apart.  I couldn't find a good patterned paper to use and the colors seemed all wrong.

This morning I saw the sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and then it just all seemed to click.  I needed to change my card base from a red to a neutral of grey and then everything started working.  I love that something as simple as a sketch can spark my creativity and get the card finished.  Now to make about 20 or so more!!

Here is my finished card.  The twine I used has silver thread running through it.  To bad the picture doesn't really show that.  As you can see I did change it just a tad bit.  I love this top note die from Stampin' Up! and I really wanted to use it on this card.  Since my image is so large it fit better than using the strips.

I like to stamp as much as I can on the inside of my cards.  I'll still add a personal message but it makes it so much easier to get a huge amount done.

Merry and Bright CTS #197

Yup, another Christmas card.  I saw this stamp set from Avery Elle used on another blog and knew I just had to have it.  It's so much fun and you can create so many different cards and layouts with it.  I can't wait to "decorate" a tree with it!

I used the sketch over at CASE(E) this Sketch! for this card.  I stamped the background and used a rectangle stitched die to create the background.  I really wanted to use the string of lights but wasn't sure how.  So I chose to use it on the front and put my sentiment on the inside.

Here is what I came up with

Let it Snow!

Is it bad that I'm looking forward to the snow? I'm sure most people would think so, I know my family does, but I just love watching it snow.  Now driving in it is a totally different story!!  This card is just perfect for the snow lover in me.  I can look at the pretty flakes, stamp them in any color I want but I don't have to clean it up or drive in it.  Win win!!

I used Try Stampin' On Tuesday's sketch this week.  Love the layout of it and have a few other ideas in mind.
Here is my card

And a close up of my flakes.  I used snowflakes2stamp and snowflakes dies from The Stamps of life.

stamps, dies, ink and embellishments all from The Stamps of Life, cardstock from Stampin' Up! and background paper is from Crate Paper.
