Going Places

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another great challenge at

This week we have a great sketch for you to work with.  My layout came together so fast using this and I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Here is what I came up with.  I've had these photos from my son's 17th birthday for, well, 5 years and haven't had any ideas of how to scrap them. This layout is perfect since I only had four photos and one wasn't that great.

I get some great products from a scrapbook group. Depending on what your join you get some great product samplings from different and new product lines.

This made this layout come together so quickly and I didn't worry about making the papers and embellishments "match" the pictures. I just went with it.

My son has become a big fan of the group Chicago and that is what he wanted for his birthday. This was his first concert and I love that it was in an outside venue where we could just sit and relax. The music was wonderful and we loved getting all the fresh air.

Now it's your turn. Create a layout using this sketch and upload it to the blog! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

I'm Being Watched...

Ever had the feeling like your being watched? It's a daily occurrence in my house. Our doggies just love "watching" us!

Today I'm sharing a design team project for
The challenge is to use 3 squares, 2 circles and 1 triangle in your design!

This is what I came up with.  These pictures were taken during my first round of stay at home order. I was working in my craft room and felt something behind me lol.

I really enjoyed making this layout. It took me a couple of days to decide what I was going to use to for the shapes. I decided on 3 square photos, 2 die cut color wheels and small triangle stickers as accents.

I wanted to use the title I'm being watched but I also really liked the smile die cut in this kit. So decided to use the smile as my secondary title and add it to my picture to help it pop more.

I laid out the three square photos in succession to show the progression of him getting closer and closer lol.  He's such a stalker!!

I've been wanting to use this color wheel die for a while and didn't have an idea for it. I was happy to see this challenge as it was the first thing to pop into my head to use.

Now it's your turn! Give this a try and upload to the blog!

Siblings

I found this picture of my mother-in-law and some of her siblings. I couldn't help but create a layout using it. My husband doesn't really have a lot of layouts for his family so I'm staring with some to get a book ready.

I created this layout for a Altenew class. It was all about floral's and gathering all the items you'll need before hand so that you can go right into crafting. Here is a pic of my items.

I started by using the mega bloom stencil to create the background of my layout. I used wisteria on the inside of the bloom and added hydrangea to the edges.

I'm very happy with how the blooms came out. Next time though I'm going to tape around the whole edge. I did get some ink where I didn't want but I was able to cover it up with elements.

I used the watercolor halftone dies and painted fantasy washi tape to create some of the elements on my page. I love that Altenew has washi tape that coordinates with dies.

I also used the watercolor halftone stamp set to create a couple of smaller solid colored images.

I wanted a bit more color so I cut out some blooms from the summer garden 6x6 paper pack. I added some of the leaves behind the washi floral's.

Here is the finished layout. I used mega brush alpha for the title and some sentiments from fancy frames and tabbed stamp sets.

This Love Story

Hi everyone? Have you tried the triangle technique on your layouts yet? I had a girlfriend show me her finished project and I knew I had to give it a try.  SO much fun!!!

I found these older photos of my kids and mother-in-law. Both of these were taken at two different baptisms. 1999 and 2002 for my younger two children. So hard to believer they are all 23, 21 and 18!!

The best part about this layout is that it only takes two pieces of paper/cardstock. I did end up using a third piece because I cut one of the 6x6 patterned pieces by accident.

I dug through my stash and found these gold words. They were perfect for my layout. They also included the golden hearts as well.

Of course, after I made this layout, I found other paper I would have loved to use for these photos. Oh well. I'll just have to dig through more pics and make more of these layouts!

Easter Blessings

Over on Facebook I'm part of a group called The Scraproom.  Every month they have new challenges and since I'm home I have tons of time to craft and play lol.

This layout is based on their Freaky Fast Friday template. They give you a few different measurements for patterned paper and then you move them around until you find the perfect layout for you. Then you add your photo/photos, title and embellishments.

Here is what I came up with. I used a kit I received that I just really didn't care for. I honestly didn't know if I was ever going to use it so when I found this old Easter pic of my mom, aunts and uncles it was perfect.

I did some stenciling on the right hand side of the page just to break up the white space. I used the paper embellishments and decided not to add any others.

Amazing Happy Memories

I finally took a break today from card making to create a layout using some old photos from when I was a kid.  I'm putting all of my mom's photos together in a book since they were originally in magnetic photo albums and most are so discolored that I don't want them to get damaged more.

I love flipping through these photos and picking the ones to work with.  Looking back I had no idea I spent so much time with my one aunt (she always said so, but littles don't remember). She is and has always been my favorite so it's neat to see these and know why I always felt so close.

I was three in these photos and my sister was five. We still look the same just all grown up lol.

For the layout I decided to use a die cut file from Hip Kit Club. I've been enjoying their videos and the monthly club is amazing. I really wanted to use some of the paints that I received so I decided to paint behind the flower. I think I should have used a black pen and marked around the flower cut (I might still do so) to help it pop off the background better.

Here is a close up of the top embellishment cluster and some of the painting I did.  The purple and blue have some shimmer and the pink is a flat paint. They really worked well together and went on the paper really well.

Together Is the Best Place to Be

I have been cleaning my craft room up over the past two weeks to help get me back into the mood to craft.  While doing this I found an album just full of old photos.  I found these cute pics of my mother-in-law holding my youngest at his christening party.

This was almost 17 years ago and she has been gone for a year now.  It was such a blessing to find these beautiful photos.  She always used to "pop" the baby cheeks. She loved the chubs that he had lol.

I used the I Love Family paper pack, embellishments, and background papers to create this layout. I've had these for quite a while and it was time to get using them.

Best of Times S&S #164

Good morning! I hope your in the mood to scrap today! We are getting so close to the end of the year and all the wonderful holiday crafty projects but I can't seem to stop crafting with flowers and bright colors.

I found these lovely photos from a field trip with my daughter in the 8th grade (she has already graduated high school). I love the bright colors from the flowers.

Family

I created this layout using Let's Get Sketchy March 15th layout challenge.  It was the perfect compliment to the Sisters layout I created.

The actual pictures are the best but I just couldn't, not, use them.  My mother-in-law was always doing goofy things to make people laugh.  She actually started twerking once!!

Sisters

Hello everyone.  I played along with Let's Get Sketchy March 1st layout challenge.  We recently lost my mother-in-law and we found some photos of her and her sisters (and other family members).  The picture I used on this layout is extra special as three of the four ladies have now passed on.  We miss them everyday but finding this treasure was a blessing.

Cherish Each Moment

Welcome to another Sketch~N~Scrap layout challenge. I am giddy about this page! I found these old photos of two of my children at my mother-in-laws and couldn't wait to scrap them.  As we were cleaning out her home it brought back some great memories of all the Easter hunts she would put on for the grandkids.

Here is today's sketch

Here is my finished layout (I will most likely be making this a two page spread). It's hard to believe that these two cuties are now 21 and 19! Where does the time go??

NANA

We recently lost my mother-in-law, so finding this old pic of her with my first born is such a treasure.

I used the sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap to create this layout.

And here is what I came up with.  Doing this layout even got me to use stamps that I don't think I've ever used lol.  I've had them forever though.

Sweet Boy

Welcome to another installment of Sketch~N~Scrap's layout challenge.

I love these pictures of my now almost 16 yr old son.  He's my baby and coming across these pictures was just perfect.  I miss his sweet little face.

Here is the sketch for my layout

I decided to do a two page layout for this so sketch.  I just flipped it and added one extra small picture so that I could use all of his cute/funny face pictures!!

X-Mas 1976

Here is a layout using photos from when my cousins and myself where just little tots.  I love looking at these old photos.  I don't get to see pictures of me to often so this was a real treat.

I used the sketch from Sketch~N~Scraps January New Beginnings Facebook event.

Here is my finished layout.  This is the second to last page for my mom's album (which she received on Christmas). Hard to believe I'm almost done with it.

Happy

Such a fun time finding old photos of my Grandpa with my mom and her siblings.  They even have my dad and a few other added in!

I used the sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap on my layout. These sketches have really helped me get this album put together fast and easy.

Here is the sketch...

Here is my finished layout.  I tried to keep it somewhat masculine.  Hoping I pulled it off.
