2015

So it's finally time to start thinking about Graduation announcements and invitations. Say WHAT!!! I can't believe that in one short month my oldest will be graduating. I know he's so ready to move on and be done with high school but I'm not sure I'm ready for it. He's come such a long way and I can't wait to see what the rest of his life has to hold for him.

Here is what I came up with so far.  This one would be an invitation to his party, which he really doesn't want.

I used a sketch from Mojo Monday.  It's a tall and skinny but I made this card a standard A2. I'm happy with the way it came out.

Unity FWF, FMS184

It has been a very long week here.  Between work, kids and injuries I'm glad its almost over.  It took me so much longer to create this card than normal due to a wrist injury that just seems to get worse instead of better.  As long as I can craft I'm good.

I chose a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to use for the Unity Friends With Flair. I don't usually get another day to create so Fridays are my day.

I like this sketch due to it's simple layout.  I had such a hard time deciding what kind of embellishments to use and where to put them. I decided on just some hemp.
I used Quick Quotes powder puff chalks to distress the edges and not have so much "white" space.

Supplies:
SS:
INK: cherry cobbler & pik pirouette pads, maraschino cherry, cherry blossom & green with envy chalk ink
CS: red, green & cream cardstock, authentique lovely collection
ACCESS: hemp twine, oval & oval scallop punch

Unity {Be Inspired} Challenge

I have these wonderful old photos from my Grandma that I just haven't been able to scrapbook.  I went out and bought paper, cardstock and embellishments and they've been sitting in a box waiting to be used.  I lost her in January and am just now wanting to take these out and do something with them.

I chose to use the layout for the Unity {Be Inspired} challenge.  The layout is simple and really wanted to use it.  I normally scrapbook in 2 page layouts but since most of the photos I received have only one or two that go together, this was perfect.

I was having a hard time leaving the one section clear of any photos or embellishments.  I decided to make a journaling tag to go in the space but once I finished it and went to adhere it, I didn't like the way it looked.

We were very lucky growing up.  We lived with my grandparents and my mother.  Due to this I grew very close to my grandparents.

Unity {Be Inspired} Challenge for March

I finally took the plunge and bought the April sentiment kit and I'm so happy I did.  The images are larger than I thought they'd be and they are wonderful!  I decided to play along using the sketch and the stamp set together.

I love the flowers with their cute hearts in the center.  I used the "huffing" technique to create the multiple color look.  I love the bird embossing folder I found and thought it worked great along side these flowers.

I decided to put both photos up because I couldn't choose between them.  I like the upper one due to its brightness but I'm loving the shadows and depth captured without the flash on the bottom one.

Supplies:
SS: thanks above & beyond
INK: gumball green, daffodil delight, melon mambo, coastal cabana markers, coastal cabana, melon mambo and gumball green ink pads
CS: night of navy, gumball green, whisper white, daffodil delight
ACCESS: melon mambo striped ribbon, bird embossing folder, corner rounder, rhinestones
TECH: huffing, embossing, sponging

BOYS RULE CAS319

I made this card for a Make is Masculine challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. I just received these two stamp sets from Unity Co. and had to use them.  I love the ruggedness of the stars and splatters.  I also used an older sketch from Mojo Monday.

I'm really liking the tall and skinny cards.  I just happened upon it on Pinterest.

 Supplies:
SS: splatters & stars, boys rule
INK: night of navy, pumpkin pie, Cajun craze, cherry cobbler
CS: whisper white, pumpkin pie, background paper unknown
ACCESS:  dimentionals

Easter Sunday Stamping!

Since my kids are older I don't have all the fun Easter morning festivities.  So, I can sit and craft!! I created my card using two great challenges Mojo Monday and ColourQ.

I haven't made a "skinny" card before so this was a bit of a challenge for me. It was a lot of fun and turned out really cute.  I love the colors from the challenge.  Very springy and makes me happy.

Hello, gate fold card

I found this great technique using the stand-up framelits by Stephanie Barnard.  I would never have thought of doing this!!  This is the video I found. Below I is my card.  I found it a bit hard to take great pictures.  Might have to think about finding something to help hold these types of projects in the future.

This was a really quick and easy card and gave me a bit more room to play with.  I threw this one together as I watched the video, so the next one I'm going to have to put more thought into it.

hello bicycle

I am loving this months stamp and die hard club kit from The Stamps of life.  Such a wonderful "springy" set to start getting me in the mood for spring and summer!! I used a great sketch/color challenge from Always Playing with Paper.  I haven't done one of their challenges before and this was a fun one.

You could choose between the color combo, the sketch or do both.  I chose both.  I turned the sketch sideways for my card.  The colors fit right in with the stamp set.  Can't wait to get outside!

SUPPLIES:
INK: licorice, guava, artichoke, melon mambo blendabilities

Happy Birthday!

Good morning.  I finally finished up over 80 birth announcements for a girlfriend and just felt the need to create a birthday card! This card is created for the challenge over at Seize the Birthday.

Every challenge on their site is a birthday challenge but I love adding the "toppings" if possible.  This challenge topping is "Make the Sentiment the Focal Point"

and here is my card
