THANKS ~ FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES #673

Hi everyone! Today, I'm sharing a fun card I made using Freshly Made Sketches, sketch #673.

I have been working hard the last few months on my Bachelor's degree and haven't been in my craft room much. This sketch was a great starting point to help get my creativity flowing again. I pulled out supplies I hadn't used before and got crafting.

I wanted to make a thank you card, but it still has some color and movement. I pulled out this great fall wreath from Scrapbook.com. Cutting the base out, I then cut it again out of five different patterns and cardstock.

To give the wreath a bit more stability, I cut it out one more time and adhered it to the underside, creating some great dimension. I did the same for the thanks. I finished up with marine gloss pops of color as the embellishment.

Thanks for taking a look at my card today. I can't wait to create more!

CREATIVE MEMORIES #SIZZLINSUMMER SKETCHES 1-3

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining me today. Creative Memories is having a summer sketch challenge that runs for nine weeks. This week we got sketch #3. I am going to share my layouts for the first three sketches.

I haven't scrapbooked in a couple of months and it felt great to jump in and accomplish some.

Layout for sketch #1

I have been working on an album with pictures of my mom's side of the family. This layout has photos of my grandparents at different ages.

Layout for sketch #2

Last November I had to put my sweet little puppy down. He was only 1 1/2 years old and had acute kidney failure. I love how this layout turned out.

Layout for sketch #3

I wanted to use all of the pictures from his last day and since I already had them out I figured this layout was perfect for them. I'm creating a complete album to commemorate Bruno's life. These will be the last four pages.

Thanks for checking out my post.

SKETCH CHALLENGE WITH THE STUDIO DESIGN TEAM

Hi everyone! We have another great challenge over at

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge based off a layout one of our design team members created. I can't wait to see what you come up with using this.

We recently purchased some new rugs and one of them went in my craft room. The dogs are always wanting to sit in there with me but hate the hard floor. So, I couldn't pass up a chance to get this cute pic!

Murphy so seldom lays still and lets me take pictures of him. I always seem to get him with his head moving or he gets up and walks away.

I used a new paper/sticker pack from CTMH called BLOOM WITH GRACE. The colors in this kit are so pretty and work well to highlight the white in the rug and Murphy.

I wanted the title to jump off the page so when I got the MEGA GREETINGS 3 stamps/dies I knew this was the title I wanted. I have to admit that I thought there was a smaller stamp that said man's best friend. I guess wishful thinking lol. But this worked.

Now it's your turn. Give this sketch a try and share it with us over at the blog!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!!

My Heart

Oh my it's been such a fun time going through old photos of my kiddos! I found another great nugget and couldn't wait to get it on paper.  I so miss this cuties smile.  She still smiles but it's all grown up now.

I love this sketch challenge from Let's Get Sketchy.  The page came together quickly and I'm loving how it turned out.

As you can see I used a vertical picture and I used brackets instead of spots.

Fall Girl

Hello.  I am loving that it's finally getting a little cooler out and fall is here.  I found this cute picture of my daughter from 2002 and couldn't help but scrap it. She was such a big helper and really enjoyed raking the leaves (wish she still felt that way).

I used this awesome sketch from Let's Get Sketchy to create my layout.

Here is what I came up with.  I used a cute kit from Echo Park and my Kiwi Lane templates to create this cute fall layout. I love using the templates to cut out titles to get different shapes.

This Is Awesome!

Here is a layout I created for the Let's Get Sketchy mid month sketch challenge.  I really liked all the different elements for this layout.

This is what I came up with.  I found this old photo of my now 21 year old son and just love that smile!! This was a great sketch for this photo as it makes it the complete focal point.

NANA

We recently lost my mother-in-law, so finding this old pic of her with my first born is such a treasure.

I used the sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap to create this layout.

And here is what I came up with.  Doing this layout even got me to use stamps that I don't think I've ever used lol.  I've had them forever though.

Wild 2

Well, I finally had time to get the second page done for the Wild layout I did a bit ago that you can see HERE. I really love scrapping in two page spreads and when I still had tons of these rock climbing photos left over I knew I'd have to find another sketch so I could finish it.

I decided to use the sketch challenge from Sketch~N~Scrap to compete this! It came together so fast I think this was my quickest layout yet (in under 30 minutes)!!

Here is the sketch

As you can see I did change it up by flipping it.  This works best with the first half of the layout

I decided not to add any embellishments as the paper is pretty busy already and it keeps it simple.

Adventure Joy Fun

I found this old picture of my now 18 year old daughter and couldn't wait to create a layout using it.  You sometimes forget how sweet and adorable they were before the "teen" years arrive lol.

I found this great sketch challenge over at Let's Get Sketchy and it is perfect for this photo.

Here is the sketch

And this is what I came up with
I used a distress ink on the edges of all the patterned paper and ran it across the background cardstock to add some depth.  It's so bright in my house right now (problems right?) that you can't really see that.

Your Invited

Good morning crafters! Here is another installment for the Sketch~N~Scrap design team.  This sketch was a lot of fun.  I think I finished this whole card in about 25 minutes.  The idea just flew out of my head.

Here is what I came up with.  I showed it to my daughter and these are now going to be her invites to her high school graduation party! Thankfully I don't have to make to many as there was a lot of hand cutting and die cutting on this lol.

Supplies: cardstock, lacy border punch, lacy embossing folder, leaf dies, regarding dahlias stamp set~Stampin' Up!, ink~The Stamps of Life

Let's Slide!

I had a lot of fun with this great sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap.  The layout itself came together quite fast. I was going to use it for a Mother's Day page and add the photos later but once I started I just "needed" to add pictures.

I found these cute pictures of my youngest at the park and couldn't resist.  Normally I wouldn't use such "girly" colors and embellishments but, heck, why not?!

Now it's your turn.  Head over to Sketch~N~Scrap and join in!!

Here is what I came up with.  I'm loving how bright it is and it just makes me happy lol.

Supplies: cardstock, rhinestone brads, and painted blooms dsp paper~Stampin' Up!, flowers~Multicraft Imports, alphabet letters (remarks)~American Crafts, sweetheart, mini paisley place border, tiny tags~Kiwi Lane, journal line stamp~The Stamps of Life.

Today

Hello again! I've been a little MIA this past few weeks.  Lots going on and just not enough days in the month.  Here is my layout for the Sketch~N~Scrap March 15th layout sketch. I chose to do a two page spread as I had way to many photos of my son playing golf lol.  I just couldn't choose three!!

Here is the sketch for inspiration

Here is what I came up with.  I used the title on my second page to help it flow from one to the other better.  I used mostly paper embellishments on this layout and just a few metal.
