Merry Tree TSOT #386

Hi everyone! Welcome to another great sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  This sketch was a bit of a challenge for me.  I ended up scrapping my first card and starting over.  You know how it is, something looks good in your head but not on paper.

Here is today's sketch and there is a BLING IT UP challenge along with it.  You can bling it or not. Your choice.

I decided to add just a bit of bling by using nuvo red slippers glitter drops as garland on my tree and a couple of drops on the background.  I used Spellbinders Christmas Tree etched die and Spellbinders fancy edged rectangle die to create my card.

I used a brush silver cardstock from Stampin' Up! to cut out the words.  I wish it was a bit more vibrant but in person it's so pretty. Just enough...

Now it's your turn.  Head over to TSOT and get crafting with us!

I have been in need of get well cards a lot lately, it seems.  So today's sketch inspired me to make one.

Here is what I came up with. Now it's your turn.  Get creating and share with us!!

Poinsettia Magic

Hey everyone.  I've been crafting away over here watching the rain fall and waiting for the "blizzard" that is supposed to be coming our way.  We will see what happens but I can sit here, look outside and watch my tree twinkle.

Today I'm sharing a card using some cute new products that I've gotten.  I love using dies and seem to never use them enough.  This card uses mostly dies with a little stamping added in. I created this with the Shapeabilities Cinch And Go Poinsettia Etched Dies.

I die cut the poinsettia pieces. I then used my bone folder to "curl" up the leaves and then took a dauber in silver ink and inked up the edges.  I love this technique as it gives dimension without using and pop up dots.

I did use a stamp cut die to create the back drop and popped it up to give just a bit more dimension.  This is one of the cards I'm going to have on my table as a sample coming up in a few weeks.

Santa Box Card

I had a lot of fun making this gift box card.  Such a cool idea and so easy to put together.  I can't take credit for this amazing tutorial, only the card that came from it.

I found the video tutorial over on Deb Valder - YouTube.  There are so many different possibilities for this amazing card.

Here is my card complete with the box in it's holder.  I haven't put anything inside just yet as the show is still a couple weeks away.

Here is the card with the box removed. I used a bow die set to create the bow on top out of red glitter paper.

Happy Holidays

Happy day after Thanksgiving! I am cranking away making Christmas cards for a craft fair in a couple of weeks.  I started having some issues with my creative bug so I looked for some fun sketches to try.

I found a good one at Cas(e) This Sketch!  I like being able to add a lot or a little depending on how I'm feeling.

Here is my card. I really love this Bells and Bows stamp set from Altenew.

Happy Friendsgiving

This time of year just makes my heart happy.  So many wonderful thankful things everywhere.  You can't go anywhere without seeing something that speaks to be grateful and treating others with care.

I love the idea of a Friendsgiving.  We haven't been able to do one as of yet but one year I'm going to get planning and have a fun time just hanging out with everyone and laughing.

Today's Sketch~N~Scrap sketch was perfect for this "Friendsgiving" card.  I couldn't wait to use these two stamp sets and get crafting.

Such a fun sketch design by Lisa this week.  I can see candy canes, birthday candles and so much more for this sketch. I used a couple of stamp sets from Fun Stamper's Journey for this card.  I used Thankful Friends stamp set and Thankful Friends die set,  I also used Gather Together stamp set and Cozy Knit embossing folder to add a bit more "thanks" to my card!

I used all the dimension as my "embellishment". I think if I added anymore it would be overwhelming and take away from the different elements.

I decided to add a sentiment inside the card this time.  I really love this stamp set and couldn't help myself!

All Bundled Up

Good morning! Welcome to another great sketch challenge for Sketch~N~Scrap.  This week we have a cute one for you.

I kept my layout pretty much right on with the sketch this week.  These photos of my little man just melt my heart.  He's sixteen now so to look back a remember is such a treat.

I had this cute holiday kit sitting on my table and thought why not? I just has to see if I could make it work.  I still can't believe he could sleep like that (still does some now).

Hi! AHSC #290

Hi everyone! I took a small break from crafting holiday projects to create this bright card below.  I am loving these sketches from Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge Blog and hope you'll join in on the fun!!

Here is today's card challenge

Here is my card.  I did outline the flower petals with a thin glue pen and sprinkled glitter, unfortunately, you can't really see it. The "grey" cardstock is a brushed silver (again, has so much more personality in person).

So Fabulous TSOT #384

Welcome to another installment of Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch challenge.  I've had a real fascination with Unicorns lately and couldn't help but use on for this sketch.

I die cut out the unicorn and used bright markers to color in select areas.  I then used pop dots to give some dimension.

Supplies:

FSJ Magical Unicorn stamp set
FSJ Magical Unicorn die set
Melissa Frances raindrop stencil
FSJ Black Licorice ink pad

Joy to the World CTS #297

Today I'm sharing another Christmas card that I made.  I've really gotten into using white as my base for my cards lately and am liking how it keeps them clean looking.  It also takes less time than having to search out different colored cardstock.

For this card I used a cute sketch I found over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  I like how the background can be as simple or as complex as you'd like and the added layer is in the lower corner.

Here is what I came up with.  I stamped the base of the card using bells and bows stamp/die bundle in fresh forest and cranberry bliss FSJ ink. I then cut the next layer with a dotted rectangle die, stamped the sentiment from lyrical script stamp set and then popped it up to give some dimension. I added some red/green/white twine to keep in trend with the colors and some blue rhinestones to give a pop of color.

My husband liked to card so much that he asked if it was this years Christmas card. (nope, I have other plans for that one)

Merry Christmas FMS362

I'm sitting here in my craft room and listening to Christmas music.  I am loving the holiday mood it puts me in. I start getting creative and I can't wait to make some Christmas projects. I'm starting with this card today and I used a fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Let Our Hearts / Card Concept 101

Hard to believe that as I'm posting this, it snowed! Crazy!! I love the snow.  I couldn't wait to watch my doggie jump around in it in happiness this morning and she didn't disappoint.  I think she loves it as much as I do!

I found this great challenge over at The Card Concept today and couldn't wait to get crafting.

I am loving the Martha's Pumpkins stamp set and Martha's Pumpkins die set from Fun Stamper's Journey.  Such an amazing stamp set.  I also used the Fall-o-ween paper pack and I tell you, there are some fantastic patterns in this collection.

Give Thanks FMS #361

Hello again! I finally put away my Christmas stamps and pulled out my turkeys.  I don't normally do a lot of line stamps as I feel my coloring could use a little work but this cute turkey was just calling to be used.

I used the sketch from over at Freshly Made Sketches to create my card today.  I love how this sketch leaves you able to create so many different cards.

For my card I used a white base and then cut another piece of white cardstock with a rectangle stitch die.  I then took the Color Me Fall background stamp and stamped and colored it.  I used dimensional dots to give it a bit of pop. The cute turkey and sentiment came from the Turkey Party Stamp set and I used the Turkey Party die set to cut it out.

Christmas Magic

I am loving this new Christmas Magic stamp and Die set.  Such cute things can be done with it.  I also get a Wizard of Oz feel from the elf shoes (ruby slippers).

The first card is using Christmas Magic stamp set, Christmas Magic die set and
Spellbinders Fancy edge circles.  I had a giggle after this card came together.  To cute how the poor elf went splat! I added white liquid applique and heat embossed it to give a little "snow" feel to the card.

My next card is again using the Christmas Magic stamp set and Christmas Magic die set.  I used a tag stencil from Kiwi Lane to create the tag and then heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and added the hat and shoes. I again, added some white liquid applique to create the puffy feel to the hat and boots.

I did emboss the sentiment, at first, with a glitter embossing powder but once it was done it didn't pop as I hoped so I flipped the tag over and used white instead.

Christmas Tags Oh My!

This is my most favorite time of year.  The trees are turning colors and the air has a nice crisp feeling to it.  I get to pull out my warm sweaters and curl up with a cup of cocoa to read a book or craft, of course!

I have some cute tags to share with you today using to of my new favorite holiday stamp sets.  Since I've started Christmas shopping already I figured I should start on my packaging as well.

I found a blog while cruising the internet and couldn't wait to join in on all the Christmas fun they are having!  It's called The Merry Christmas Challenge.  And it's all Christmas all the time!! Anything Christmas goes.

Here is a picture of all three tags.  I started out simply by stamping and coloring those images that are line stamps and then die cutting them out.  I didn't add any embellishments as I knew they were going to end up on gifts for my kiddos.  The ones I make for friends and other family members will have a bit more "bling" to them.

These two tags were created with winter build a scene stamp set and winter build a scene die set.  These are going to definitely be a staple in my stash.  I like how simple they are to color and create a cute scene without having to pull out a whole bunch of different products.

This next tag was created using the Christmas Magic stamp set and Christmas magic die set. I can't wait to share more projects using this stamp/die set.

Best of Times S&S #164

Good morning! I hope your in the mood to scrap today! We are getting so close to the end of the year and all the wonderful holiday crafty projects but I can't seem to stop crafting with flowers and bright colors.

I found these lovely photos from a field trip with my daughter in the 8th grade (she has already graduated high school). I love the bright colors from the flowers.

Glitter Technique Challenge TSOT!

This week I have the pleasure of doing the feature technique over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I choose glitter and couldn't wait to get started.  Below is the tutorial on how to create a glitter background.  Make sure to head over to the website to see more and add your own glitter fun!!

Step 1: Get your favorite double sided adhesive paper. This is what I happened to have on hand.

Step 2: Peel the backing off your adhesive sheet and adhere to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base (I used white, but any color will work). Trim off the excess.

Step 3: Choose the glitter colors you'd like to use.  You can do as many or as little colors. I decided on two.

Step 4: Peel off the top protector on the adhesive sheet

Step 5: Start with your first glitter and sprinkle in random areas.  Making sure to "flick" off the excess after each pour.

Step 6: Finish by adding the second color and "flicking" off the excess after each pour.

Here is the finished sheet.  Now it's ready to finish decorating.

Here is my finished card using this amazing background.  I'm loving how it turned out and can't wait to see what you come up with!!
